Benjamin Choate
ABOUT ME
Benjamin Choate is a screenwriter whose passion for writing film is only matched by their passion for watching them. Their work often centers on grounded, character-driven stories with themes exploring the unspoken, often confusing complexities of modern-day interpersonal relationships.
They are currently based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In May 2026, Benjamin Choate graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Filmmaking, concentrating in Screenwriting. UNCSA is ranked as being among the nation’s top ten film schools by The Hollywood Reporter. While at school, seven of their screenplays were selected by the student body and faculty to be produced as short films. Additionally, Choate quickly gained on-set experience as a Script Supervisor, and was hired on more than a dozen short film productions.
